New England Floor Sanding recently did both new hardwood flooring installation as well as sanding and staining our entire 6,000 sq. ft existing hardwood floors in Carlisle, MA. We could not have been happier with the outcome. We went from the classic pumpkin colored polyurethane oil stain to a much lighter Nordic stained natural color with satin finished HD Traffic water-based urethane and it completely transformed our house. Sam walked us through all the stages of the project and patiently answered all our questions. His installers / finishers were incredibly professional while on the job and were extremely responsive to minor touch ups that we requested at the end of job. I highly recommend New England Floor Sanding if you're considering either refinishing your existing hardwood floors or installing new hardwood.

My family and I had a great experience with New England Floor Sanding. We had an issue with our floors after having them done by someone else, and they came in and fixed the problem very quickly. The floors came out beautiful, and we are extremely happy with the final result. They were professional, very clean, and respectful of our home throughout the entire process. They took their time to make sure everything was done properly and left everything neat when they finished. We really appreciate the work they did for us and would definitely recommend New England Floor Sanding!

Sam and his team did fantastic work refinishing our 30 year old red oak flooring. Even with my mistake of installing white oak flooring during our kitchen renovation, Sam’s team was able to seamlessly blend them together. Sam communicated well, always keeping me updated. His team worked very hard to complete the job in a timely manner. Highly recommend. We’d love to have Sam and his team back to install flooring in the rest of our home.

I hired New England Floor Sanding to sand and refinish my hardwood floors. First, I must say I have had a hobby of refinishing wood furniture for the last 50 years. I have also completely refinished the floors at my previous home by myself twice. Once in 1988 and again 20 years later. For this reason I think I know what I’m talking about when I qualify this company with 5 stars.
Stenio and his guys were punctual, polite, efficient, and amazingly good at their job. If you need wood floors redone I highly recommend the team at New England Floors!

My 27 year old maple floors had yellowed quite a bit and were pretty roughed up in the kitchen with lots of dog scratches. Sam at New England floor sanding was quick to respond, and communicated clearly throughout the process. Very reasonably priced for almost our entire ground floor including foyer stairs. The floors look brand new. We kept a natural color with the non-yellowing Bona semi-gloss finish.

I don’t write reviews often but this one absolutely warranted it. We just had our hardwood floors completely redone throughout our entire first floor in Plymouth, MA and I am blown away by how they came out.
A little context we have tweenage kids, pets, and we host a lot, so durability was a huge factor for us. We needed floors that could actually hold up to real life, not just look pretty. We did a ton of research before going this route and I’m so glad we did because the end result is stunning and built to last.
We actually planned our vacation around the project and left them to it while we were away, which honestly required a lot of trust. They did not disappoint. We came home to floors that looked absolutely incredible and a house that was spotless. No dust, no mess, nothing out of place. I was fully prepared to come home to chaos and instead walked in with my jaw on the floor (pun intended.)
The attention to detail was next level. Every edge, every corner, every transition done perfectly. Even and flawless throughout every room, no streaks, no missed spots, no uneven finish. These guys clearly take pride in their work and it shows.
I’ve had plenty of contractors in and out of this house over the years and this team genuinely stands out. Our old painted floors were probably over 15 years old and took a beating!
These guys were punctual, communicative, respectful of our space, and the results speak for themselves. My floors look like a brand new home. Worth every single penny. If you’re in the Plymouth, Cape Cod or South Shore area and on the fence, just do it.

Sam and his crew did a beautiful job on my hardwood cherry floors and oak staircase. I wanted to get away from the deep orange/yellow color associated with cherry and was looking for a modern, clean look. Sam suggested a wood bleaching process which is applied after the floors are sanded. I wasn’t aware of this technique but Sam guided me through it and the results are amazing. I’m so happy and feel like I walked into a new home. The oak staircase color is different but, again, it has the clean look I wanted. Sam’s pricing is reasonable and his help and communication throughout the process was excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending New England Floor Sanding and look forward to my next project with them.

The project that Sam, Stenio and the crew tackled for me in Hollis, NH was not an easy one...thousands of square feet of new flooring, weaved into existing, with height variations of an 1/8" between new and old. There were three stairways and dozens of feet of open balcony and hundreds of balusters. There was also a mixture of wood species and finish, and the color chosen for the stain, True Black is about as unforgiving as a stain can get. Due to the lack of humidity, the boards had shrunk in some areas, and their guys literally used syringes on thousands of linear feet of crevices to ensure as uniform a stain coverage as possible. The house has nearly 100 windows with natural lighting being cast with varying intensity and at different angles throughout the day. At no point did they dictate when their work was done; rather they solicited continuous input throughout the process, both negative and positive, to ensure we were happy.
All in all, New England Floor Sanding delivered a fantastic product at a competitive price, and I'll be reaching out to them for our next flooring project.

We had hired another company to refinish our 23+ year old floors and wanted the natural, light look using Bona. Unfortunately, the company we originally hired did not know how to use this product and completely destroyed all of our floors. I immediately reached out to Sam (in panic), and he reassured me that his team could come in and restore all of our floors. Less than a week after I had called him, our floors were already redone, fixed, and we couldn’t be happier. Sam’s team was great to work with - we interacted with Sam and Stenio the most, but they were all very pleasant, respectful, and professional. Cannot recommend this company enough - we are very pleased with our floors!

Wanted to lighten up my red oak floors from the very yellowish gold color, was thinking about replacing the floors but after researching some companies and the wonderful reviews New England floor Sanding had I reached out to them. Sam got right back to us on a Sunday, gave us an estimate over pictures we sent as well as telling him approximate square footage. The pricing was very fair and their work is amazing! My floors are exactly what I wanted! The guys work with you to make sure you are happy! Couldn't be happier (and I'm picky). Contacted Sam and within 2 weeks my floors were done! His communication was excellent via phone, text, and email. He did exactly what he said he'd do on the day he said he would. His men were absolute professionals and worked long hours to complete a very large job in just a few days. Nordic Seal (2 coats) and Bona HD Traffic Semi-gloss (2 coats) on new red oak flooring. Light and Beautiful!

I had complete trust in New England Floor Sanding team as soon as I knew they were good communicators and were always letting me know what was happening and what the steps were. I had reached out to a few different companies and all had similar pricing for sanding and staining the floors in our kitchen and living room. What you see in the reviews is what you get with this company because they truly do outstanding work. They came when they said they would to start the job and ended when they said they would. The price never changed and they were always honest. My wife and I had originally wanted to go with a certain stain and they told us the reasons why that specific stain wouldn’t be good for what we were planning and our timeline on moving in. Changing the stain did not change the price either. This is a solid company.

Sam and his team did a great job with our staircase and floors. Everyone has been complementing on the floors. The guys were neat and our concerns of dust were a non issue . The guys did a great job covering areas and vacuuming , leaving very little dust which is a far cry from previous sanding jobs. Sam is responsive , makes the estimation process simple , shows up on time and is very fairly priced. I would highly recommend him and his team for any floor sanding project.

We were looking to take r floors from yellow to a more natural finish. From the moment we got in touch with Sam we were met with professionalism and sincerity. Something that I personally have not come across often when it comes to contractors. There was no ego involved just solid advice which helped shape the direction we decided to eventually go in. The crew was on time and got the job done in a handful of days. Upon returning to our house we had minimal clean up. The floors were perfect. Throughout the process we were given updates via text. They were always ready to answer any questions we had and adapt to any changes. We wanted a specific product different than what they originally recommended. We called Sam to get a quote to refinish the oak floors in three of our bedrooms and a hallway. They had been covered with carpet, and when we removed the carpet, they were pretty beat up and had some paint on them. He promptly came back with a great quote, and was very attentive to any of our questions or concerns leading up to the job. His crew showed up right on time and worked hard in hot and dusty conditions to revitalize our floors. They did a great job sanding the floors, and after a thorough vacuuming they put down three coats of water based polyurethane. They look great! It’s hard to believe that in two days our old worn out floors look like new again. We would highly recommend!!
